ADULT CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

BAKING BAROSSA MEMORIES

WITH THOSE BAROSSA GIRLS

Our food memories are powerful stories that have the ability to hurtle us back through time, to days when grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and community-get-togethers involved rituals and recipes.

The recipes contained in The Barossa Cookery Book, and the host of other regional cookbooks are precious snapshots in time. But more than that, they are enduring legacies of times past, connections to people, places and stories that are valuable. Do you have a family recipe that has a regional connection? A community cookbook from anywhere within the greater Barossa that you would like to share?

Please join us for a wonderful afternoon of sharing Barossa food memories, conversations, connections and recipes. Bring any cookbooks or photos (and their associated stories) that you would like to share. We would love to see them!

When: May 18 1-4pm

Cost: Free, with afternoon tea provided

Registrations at the door, call 8563 8340 or email info@barossa.sa.gov.au for more information.

HANDBUILDING WITH RAKU CLAY

WITH ARTIST FRUZSI KENEZ

In this delux ceramic workshop, you can look forward to three hours of tuition with Adelaide-based ceramicist and illustrator Fruzsi Kenez. Exploring various methods of hand-building functional vessels and tableware, participants will have the opportunity to make a spoon and small ring-dish and learn the technique of coiling and move forward to making larger pieces and personal projects.

The workshop fee covers three hours of tuition, all professional quality materials including unlimited clay, underglaze paints and tools in addition to bisque and glaze firing that Fruzsi will do on the student's behalf. There will also be a small afternoon tea.

Finished works will be returned to Barossa Gallery on June 8. No experience necessary.
